Christmas 2015

This year, I decided to take the girls here at the orphanage to the beach for Christmas.  Chances to go to the beach are very rare for these girls, in fact this was the first time for a few of them.  Here are some pictures from our Christmas Day at the beach…

We started the trip to the beach in two vehicles, but one of the vans broke down on the way there…So we piled 21 people in my Mitsubishi Montero along with the food and a large cooler and were on our way! I’ve never driven a car that packed!

We made it to the beach!

 Sand everywhere. πŸ˜‚

And more sand…

I think all of the girls each had their mouthful of saltwater.

They thought it was so cool that they were allowed to pee in the ocean. πŸ˜‚

They kept yelling, “Caroline! I just peed in the ocean!” and “Caroline! I just farted in the ocean!”. πŸ˜‚

It was awesome having Amanda spend Christmas with us. Amanda is a Mission E4 intern spending 3 months with us in Haiti.

Joanne, Yvelouse, and Loudiana learned how to float by themselves.

  Yvelouse floated the entire time.πŸ’œ

Most of the girls have grown up scared of the water. It was fun watching them face their fears and have so much fun.

This was literally her face the entire time.😍

Isdarli kept asking me if we could come back before we even left.

The girls love to look for shells on the beach.
 Edit

It soon became a contest for who could find the biggest piece of coral. Despite protests from the older girls- we had quite the collection of shells and coral in my car on the way back.πŸ˜‰
